The Sweetness of Water is highest on my list.
He always has wonderful diverse reading lists. Have not read any on this one but my eye is on several, including Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty. So many books....
Agree that I always enjoy seeing what Obama chooses. Sadly I've read none but I have a few on hold and interest in a few others.

I've just read one of these, not even knowing it was on this list.
I am not reading much new stuff this year, so unsurprisingly I have not read any of these. I am also not adding them to my want-to-read because I am trying (really trying) to clear this tbr a lil bit 😂

I also don't read lists from celebrities or politicians--not out of any principle, it's just not something I care to do.
I'm reading Klara and the Sun this month. I'm on a waitlist for Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty but I might be waiting a long time. Intimacies sounds really interesting, with an international trial, and the difficulties of interpretation, culture and language. Her previous book got terrible reviews though.
When we Cease to Understand the World, is hard to get. I was looking for it in May. Land of Big Numbers would have interested me in May too.
This is the first time I actually read the description of Project Hail Mary. It has incredible ratings. I'm not in the mood for sci-fi now, but I'd like to read it eventually.

I may read Klara and the Sun next month as well as The Sweetness of Water.
When We Cease to Understand the World was excellent, as was At Night All Blood is Black. Both were long listed for the International Booker, and At Night… won. I’ve also read Klara and Big Numbers- both were good.
I’m looking forward to the Katie Kitamura and the Eric Nguyen- they both sound really good.

I'll have to start over some day. Maybe I'll read it with you next month if I can get it.
Jen K wrote: "I would read Klara and the Sun next month with folks!" I think that I will be reading it next month because, I expect that it will be nominated for the Booker and I am planning to read some of those.
