I hate love triangles. They are annoying. The heroine never ends up with the better guy. The heroine behaves like shed go crazy if for the love of God she doesn't choose one of the two guys(America fricking Singer, I hate you) It doesn't make sense most of the time BC the MC is bland as hell and two guys are FIGHTING TO DEATH for her to no absolute reason. They are rarely done well. It grinds my gears. The pay off is never worth it. They used to work in the 2010s but it's now extremely clichéd. NOTHING EVER MAKES SENSE!!!!!

IKR I totally agree with you on the Selection but what really bummed me off was Shadow and Bone, where there was a charming funny witty guy and she chose the one WITH NO PERSONALITY. Like gurllllll whyyyyy. I read that book months ago and still complain about it because it pissed me off so much!! 😡

Don't get me wrong, I liked mel but nikolai!!!! Like why would you do that, mel kissed Zoya (and didn't even explain what happnes) he was extremely boring and annoying. On the other hand, there's Prince Nikolai who is charming, funny, handsome, not boring, non-toxic. But if am being honest, Alina didn't deserve him, thank god he got Zoya ( still haven't read king of scars, plz don't spoil)

Same, I haven’t read king of scars but can t wait to bc NIKOLAI my fav character of all time and the only one in my opinion with a personality. Like Mal was scared of Alinas power and I just hated him so much. Spoiler for ruin and rising (view spoiler)[ I cheered when he died and cried when he came back to life (hide spoiler)]

JUST FINISHED THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY AND-
i want to cry and scream and laugh and jump up and down in joy.
this book was so fucking BEAUTIFUL and i don't know how else to put it.

I hate those covers !! Also I just generally dislike it when the authors just put lazy covers of some random people, like come on. I know you shouldn’t like judge the book by it’s cover, but I just love when the author puts actual effort on the cover especially when it matches well with the story.

Speaking of creepy male love interests in YA Fantasy… in ACOTAR (view spoiler)[rhysand is just… downright disgusting… but SJM tries/manages to cast him as a ‘morally grey but still deep down is a great person’ character… am i the only person who finds him creepy in ACOTAR?? (hide spoiler)]

and why does every main character have to have a love interest. I mean the act like a girl can destroy the dystopian government and have enough time to choose between the two people she likes. that alone that's ten thousand years to do. I mean tbh I know the fans like ships( I mean I do too)
but in many cases author's just push romance between characters and it doesn't work. it makes it seem unrealistic and unrelatable.
