CPL's Book a Week Challenge discussion

I hope everyone's July has been going well so far! What books have you read so far this month? What's your current read?

I've managed to finish a couple books so far this month, including A Game of Fate and A Touch of Ruin. I've always loved the Hades and Persephone myth and I'm enjoying this "modern day" retelling. I guess it's been a retelling month because I also finished a Phantom of the Opera retelling, Sing Me Forgotten. It was really good but you may need tissues at the end.

Currently reading Things that Should Stay Buried which I won in a giveaway I didn't know I even entered (but it was a nice surprise) and The Treason of Isengard.

As a reminder, the next quarter challenges are available on Beanstack now. They will be available until the end of September.

So far this month, I've read two Poirot mysteries (Murder in Mesopotamia and Cards on the Table), Murder on Wall Street by Victoria Thompson, reread The Hobbit for the Online book club, and read Anne of Green Gables for the first time (which also required tissues at the end).

I am currently reading Dumb Witness by Agatha Christie (Hoopla), The Quiet GIrl by S.F. Kosa (Overdrive), and I've got a stack of library books to choose from.

Having a great reading quest so far. I have read 107 of the 200 so far for the challenge.

I just started SALT by Colin F Barnes. Apocalypse type book. I already can’t put it down.
I was reading The Witcher and then watched season 1 episode 1 which I enjoyed.
46% of the way through Game of Thrones on audio. Love the narrator. Keep having to put it on hold since it’s long & I keep running out of time while listening to it.

The ASOIAF books are sooooo dense but they are engaging.

I was picking up speed in June (earned 5 badges), but have slowed a bit this month. Just finished Where the Crawdads Sing, something I started long ago when it was part of the CPL Book club but for some reason or another put down. Also completed the Big Library Read, and currently reading Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi (may need to look into a book on Igbo mythology afterward).
