I tend to use tags from cloths and candy wrappers that I don't throw away, so they float around my room until I stick them in a book lol!
Actual book marks, paper like Kendra said, folding the corners, or the cover if it's a hard back book.
I don't use bookmarks very often. I just remember my page. but i have a couple Harry Potter bookmarks that i use, and some pressed flower ones that I made too. sometimes I'll use receipts or gum wrappers or something XD
I read on Kindle mostly. But I do have a couple of bookmarks that authors have put in their books when they sent me ARCs, so I have used those on occasion.
Mainly bookmarks, but also use receipts, library loan printouts, corners torn from scrap paper. When reading a non-fiction book I tend to use a piece of paper to write notes on so I can look something up later.

I have way too many bookmarks, but I always close my book and have to flip around trying to find my page because I forgot to use a bookmark
Clips? a piece of paper? But I don't actually use one...I just try to remember the page or flip around trying to find it....
I've recently started making bookmarks where I print off my favorite character's names in a color and font that I feel represents them, and then sketching a design that represents the book beside the name. They look cool!
I have a few "real" bookmarks I use, but I also like using straw wrappers...
Cool!! most of the time I use candy rappers , trash , and pretty much whatever fits in the book lol XD

Nice question! I just dog ear, but since I can't do that on library books, I just note down the pages I read till on my phone, or I just flip it upside down if I'm planning to read it again soon.
I use these old multiplication flash cards that my mom bought a long time ago, but I've been meaning to buy some actual bookmarks off Amazon.
I'm honestly terrified of the reactions I will receive for this but I dog-ear the pages or just leave the book open upside down. I am everything my grade-school teachers feared.

Lol, whatever works!!

I just mostly use post-its because I always have a stash on my desk but I'm determined to invest in some "real" bookmarks soon haha.
I own a lot of bookmarks because my fav bookstore always gives you a free bookmark when you buy a new book. I tend to put a napkin or something between my book when I'm out and I don't have anything else and I never fold the corners of my pages, that is a booklover sin.
I have a lot of bookmarks but what do I actually use??NOTHING! I just memorize the page number or use a receipt.

That is awesome, all bookstores need to do that!!!

I use anything as a bookmark. When I do actually remember to use proper bookmarks though, I really like ones with quotes on them.
I use store receipts, matchbooks, playing cards, toothpicks... just about anything. I've even been known to use a sheet of toilet paper, when on the throne in the reading room and nothing else is handy.

Went into a book store and they came out with a shoeboxful and told me to have a rummage and take what I wanted. I did ......... much to the disgust of my youngest. :)
I have a bookmark from someone's memorial service, I bought the book at an op shop and found it inside, now I put Barry's bookmark in whatever I'm reading.... I didnt know him of course but I see him almost every night!
Receipts or other scraps of paper. I'm always collecting proper bookmarks but can never find one when I'm reading!
