When James feels a cold coming on, Caroline tells him to use the eucalyptus oil in the bathroom, but doesn't mention that it is for topical use only. Later, we learn that he drank it.
Did you consider the possibility that Caroline purposely didn't tell him how to use it?
Do you think that, even subconsciously, this might have been a form of revenge?
