2017 Reading Challenge discussion

This is a great but gruesome story. As in his first book, the author takes our world history and retells it with some of the main characters and supporting characters being Vampires. This book spans more time than in the first book and their are many more human interactions and evil that are explained away by the existence of Vampires. And a lot of mysteries and behind the scenes work are addressed as well. I am aware that this is a book about Vampires, however, I found the details of death and murder to excruciatingly gruesome. In spite of that, I still loved this book.
