August Reads

My reading has taken a biblical theology turn right in order to better help me to minister the Word to my sphere of influence. God is teaching me about the importance of lament and patiently walking with those who are struggling.

For August, I started Carved in Ebony: Lessons from the Black Women Who Shape Us and Just Ask: The Joy of Confident, Bold, Patient, Relentless, Shameless, Dependent, Grateful, Powerful, Expectant Prayer.

How’s your reading?
I’m still working through The Apostles' Creed: Discovering Authentic Christianity in an Age of Counterfeits. I ended up going through Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible instead. I really liked her practical suggestions and am really excited to add some of them to our school year. The biggest thing I keep hearing is “just do it” no matter how imperfect.
I also started Dune in the suggestion of my son. We hope to see the movie together this fall.
My days are kinda full and my reading a bit more sporadic. I might take it a little easier this last bit of summer.
