Christabelle (christabelleallestad) | 149 comments Hey all! Still hot where you are? We are waiting for rain…so weird to see dry grass, that’s a California thing! The days are already getting shorter and the school supplies are in bloom on the store aisles. I’m going to miss these days for sure.

How’s your reading?

I’m still working through The Apostles' Creed: Discovering Authentic Christianity in an Age of Counterfeits. I ended up going through Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible instead. I really liked her practical suggestions and am really excited to add some of them to our school year. The biggest thing I keep hearing is “just do it” no matter how imperfect.

I also started Dune in the suggestion of my son. We hope to see the movie together this fall.

My days are kinda full and my reading a bit more sporadic. I might take it a little easier this last bit of summer.

Elizabeth (mejerrymouse) | 6 comments We are getting a reprieve from the heat here in the Appalachian mountains. It’s just lovely!

My reading has taken a biblical theology turn right in order to better help me to minister the Word to my sphere of influence. God is teaching me about the importance of lament and patiently walking with those who are struggling.

Linda Martin (lindajm) | 132 comments I started reading Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackery. Got 1/3 into it and decided to take a break. It is a very long novel. 900 pages, in some editions. So now I'm reading another Hornblower book. I'm two books behind schedule for my annual goal now because of Vanity Fair. Last month I was one book ahead.
