I’m sorry I didn’t wait to discuss more with you, I hit a bit of a low point last night and needed to read something light and easy so I picked this up and read the next two sets! Hope that’s ok💜
(Though now that I think of it, it’s not that light haha, it’s actually talking about some pretty serious issues, but you get me)

Anyway I can’t exactly remember where this set ended and the next began because I read them all at once, but this set was definitely where things started getting more interesting!! The ball was absolutely disgusting and I hate all those men except Luke (poor Luke - I really hope he’s ok!) and nooo poor Liv! She did NOT deserve that! She’s such a cutie and the prince is a monster for calling her out like that!
Honestly I can’t stand these people, the society they’ve built is so horrible and I’m honestly so excited for Sophia to bust in there and tear it all down, as I’m sure she will!

Oh also this might just have been me, but when Liv was called out I couldn’t help but compare her to the original Cinderella tale where she was poor and had to make her own dress last minute because the stepsisters had torn hers apart… I reckon that if the Fairy Godmother hadn’t turned up for Cinderella, then she would’ve ended up just like Liv, shamed for her poverty and basic dress, because I doubt the prince would’ve been so kind if she wasn’t so pretty! Just a little connection that I made, I might have pulled it out of no-where and I’m not sure if the author meant to put it in, but that’s what I thought of when she said she made her dress!

Ch 7
- [ ] The ball has arrived, so sad to see them together in the carriage like that
- [ ] But i liked how her grandmother was also against it all, poor thing has to pay a heavy price though

Ch 8
- [ ] Oh no! How terrible! Now Luke and Liv have been taken!
- [ ] That Morris and Edward guy are the worse and corrupted, including their king! How is it possible that no real nice king has ascended the throne yet and changed things, in 200 years really?!

Ch 9-11
- [ ] Okay I don’t what happened but I realised I’ve read so many chapters at once since I’m already at chapter 11 and haven’t written anything down haha these chapters are way too short or they’re just too good to stop reading. Probably a bit of both!
- [ ] But omg who was that woman behind the door? Could it have been Liv?

Ch 12
- [ ] Unexpected ally. I think I remember the synopsis saying Constance was the last descendant from Cinderella. Although I don’t know how that is possible since it said Cinderella had no children.
- [ ] But perhaps that is what they wanted the people to believe?

Yeah this book is pretty light compared to what we have been reading recently haha so I get you.

I know I was also disgusted with what the humiliation they made Liv go through. It was so heartbreaking and disturbing to read. That must have been when I lost track of the chapters and just read through a couple at a time without realising.

Yeah I can’t wait to see how she will tear down this society!

Hmmm yes that is very true. I like that connection you made! It definitely does seem likely this is what Cinderella would have been like if her stepmother allowed her to attend with her pink dress, the prince wouldn’t look twice at her or she would have been humiliated like Liv was in front of all.
It probably was intention by the author, as it did say “I made it myself”

i know, it's ridiculous! that's why i invented my theory hehe ;). but if i'm wrong then wow, that must be quite a town where they grow up, literally just taught to be misogynistic assholes with no manners... if there are women there then they must hate it, or be seriously indoctrinated!

yeah i'm doing well now thank you, school just got stressful and i had a bunch of SACs (assignments/tests that go towards my results - my year 12 subject SACs go towards my ATAR as well, which is scary!) so i just needed a break from life i think! this book provided a good escape ;). thank you for checking though❤ you're so sweet
