Our shelves are full of books by George Orwell, but until now (August 2021) there has never been a group read. A group read is great for focusing discussion, but many Goodreads members are in several groups, with other commitments, so there never seems to be enough time ...

So to prevent overload, but keep the group fresh, we will read one essay a month together, and will probably have a group read of a novel about once a year. None of these are mandatory, but hopefully an essay will be easy enough to fit into anyone's schedule, and those by George Orwell are superb!

Members will be notified for each group read.
