Sandi, nice month! I enjoyed Dream Girl too and also thought it was well plotted. I always liked Anne George's books too. The sisters were fun. Sandi wrote: "Hi All, Had a good month of favorite authors. Here are my July reads: Top Reads

Had a good month of favorite authors. Here are my July reads:
Top Reads
Dream Girl - Laura Lippman
I usually enjoy books featuring writers and found this to be suspenseful and well plotted. It also will add a few books to my TBR list.
Goods Reads
Set in Darkness - Ian Rankin
A body is found in the building that is being rehabbed for the new Scottish Parliament and Rebus lands the case. Typical entry in the series, fairly dark with a rather complex plot but great atmosphere and characterizations.
Murder Boogies with Elvis - Anne George
The final installment of this series and I will miss catching up with Mary Alice and Patricia Anne. As usual, they manage to stumble into a murder investigation and even though the plot was a bit creaky the characters and the narration of the audio by the excellent Ruth Ann Phimister made this an enjoyable listen.
The Yellow Dog - Georges Simenon
Inspector Maigret is sent to a small sea side village to look into an apparently random murder. This was an enjoyable audio with a brisk plot and nicely done narration by Gareth Armstrong.
The Money Harvest - Ross Thomas
This book takes place in Washington D. C. during the summer of 1975 and had interesting plot featuring power, money, and corruption.
OK Reads
Crimson Joy - Robert B. Parker
Not my favorite in the series because of the serial killer plot but at least it was a short book. Susan had a pretty big role and was fairly annoying while Hawk was used sparingly. Listened to the audio version narrated by Michael Prichard.
