Tell us why you're here, what your favorite Space Horror book is, one you've been meaning to read, any parasites you might be carrying, etc. etc.

Jared | 3 comments Hi Brian! Just saw your post on the r/spacehorror thread and decided to join right away.

I'm a huge fan of sci-fi horror and I am currently writing my debut novel in the genre. My favorite sci-fi horror book series so far is The Reality Dysfunction by Peter Hamilton, but Ive gobbled up pretty much the entire Alien and Dead Space franchises in all forms. Big fan of The Thing, Dead Space, Pandorum, Doom, and many others.

I just recently finished reading Dan Simmons "Hyperion" and it completely blew me away. I've also really enjoyed Peter Watt's "Blindsight," and been digging into Neal Asher lately.

Hey Jared, welcome :) If you don't mind me asking, what's the book about?

Jared | 3 comments I have yet to come up with a good short synopsis without giving too much away but Ive been having a total blast writing it so far. Im 45K words deep on my zero draft so I figure Im about halfway through the rough draft.

Its a military sci-fi horror with an invasion of Earth but I dont want to give too much away because I'm having so much fun with the twists. There will be heavy influences of horror, space and land battles, interstellar travel/war, touching on the lore of the Greys and their interaction with Earth, and time modification. The setting centered in present-day Israel/Palestine. Three main characters. I really want to finish it and publish it eventually.
