I prefer hardcover. It’s just nicer for me, but less easier to carry or travel with.

..yes.. amongst other things"
When you said faerie smut, that was the first thing I thought of. I haven't read ACOTAR yet (I want to), but I've heard things about it.

I will. I kind of want to finish TOG first, but I might break my own rule and read both.

That's one thing that was slightly annoying me about it, but I usually read a lot of books with POV switches. I'm just not used to them mid-chapter.

I'm on Heir of Fire.
Celaena is hit or miss for me. At the moment, Chaol is kind of meh. Dorian is barely there, and I'm not sure how I feel about Rowan yet. He's kind of coming across as a jerk right now.
Who's your favorite? Mine's Sam Cortland in The Assassin's Blade.

I've only finished the first two ToG books, but The Assassin's Blade is my favorite. I actually read them separately as short stories, but The Assassin's Blade has all of them in it. You should. For me it was a fantastically sad time.

When you do eventually read it, let me know what you think. I'm interested in your thoughts on it.

I don't know why the hardcover is really good, but in some cases it looks weird or doesn't fit so I don't know, I like both
Both have their cons and pros. Hardcover is heavy but it lasts longer. Most of my paperback books are all teared in the middle. I overall prefer hardcover.
I like hardcovers because the covers cannot get torn, ripped, bent, and broken. Also, they're bigger and for some reason, give me more motivation to read than paperbacks. ;)
Definitely hardback as they last longer, all my paperbacks look I went through a windstorm with them XD
Fifi wrote: "Definitely hardback as they last longer, all my paperbacks look I went through a windstorm with them XD"Exactly! This is why I love hardcopies better!
Paperbacks, they handle better and are easier and lighter to carry in my shoulder bag. I also adore the artwork on older horror paperbacks (cool!) and on historical romance books (corny!)
Paperbacks are so satisfying to hold, I will always choose them over hardcover! Also they give a more mysterious vibe than a book that looks all straight and polished. And they can last a lifetime, too, if you know how to treat a book right ;)
I can't choose. Paperbacks feel nicer to hold when I'm reading them and they're cheaper but hardbacks look nicer on my shelves and they last longer
I have been struggling with this for so long because I always switch BUT I recently found out why... For me it depends on the book genre. If it's YA, NA, Fantasy, Series: it HAS TO BE HARDCOVER. These books look amazing and have the best covers. Same with Autobiographies and Memoirs (but not biographies).
If it's any other kind of book then I'll go with paperback unless its a new release or the hardcover is gorgeous!
personally paperback will always be my favorite (definitely not bc it’s cheaper) just bc it just feels nicer ig? but in some books i do prefer hardcover
Paperback gives such a cinnamon bun aesthetic XD
