I was planning on reading this because it isn't easy to find authors from Bolivia. But I read the first chapter and it put me off the book right away. I don't want to read about rape, and here it is in chapter one. I will have to find another book for Bolivia.

For another book club, we picked "The Mountain that Eats Men" for our Bolivia end of this year.

I don't want to discourage others from reading Norte. We all have triggers in books that bother us that don't bother others which is one of the great things about the huge variety of books out there.
