Wistful entered and placed Basil's cage on a small table near her hammock. Then she laid down to read a scroll she brought from home.
Okapi came in. She looked at the bright sunlight filling the room and the beautiful RainWing in the hammock. Okapi saw a rocky ledge that was covered by camel skin blankets. It was directly in the sun where the rays could warm her scales. Okapi wondered how here older brother Nile was doing. Probably, he was already goofing off and making best friends with his clawmates. Nile could make friends so quickly. Okapi wished she could do that. Btu she basically could, if the dragon was nice and well mannered like her. She set down a few things she had bright from home like a photo of her, her mother and her brother. She placed it down on the scroll shelf that had her name written on it. She decorated her third of the room then sat down the bed and started looking through her photo album. So many memories…when school got out, she planned to go right back to Possibility and have the longest sleepover ever! Okapi smiled to herself. That was going to be so much fun. When she was leaving, she and her friends planned everything out. Okapi yawned and continued looking at the photos. She looked at the RainWing reading the scroll.
Wistful noticed Okapi on the ledge. Then she got Basil out of his cage. "Who's the best little pet ever! You are, yes, you're so much better than sloths!" She cooed softly. "Hello, clawmate. I can tell from those pictures you live in Possibility. I always wonder what it's like living in such a unified place, with every single tribe by your side, sorta like here but you live with the other tribes, too." Wistful said after feeding Basil some plum and spinach.
“Well, actually, most of the dragons, actually, almost all the dragons are SkyWings, SandWings and MudWings. IceWings wouldn’t like the weather, RainWing’s practically live in paradise and seawing’s prefer the ocean. And NightWing’s are still in the rainforest basically hiding.”
"I mean, if I had the chance, I think I'd move to Possibility." Wistful said, surprising herself. Basil twitched and climbed onto Wistful's head.
“Really? It might be to much for a RainWing,” said Okapi. She stared at the iguana, Basil. I’d rather have a sloth… Okapi thought.
"Please, I can take care of myself. Afterall, mom doesn't know Basil exists and he's still alive, too. If you can live there, why can't I?" Basil jumped back into his cage and peered at Okapi curiously.
“You mean just leave the rainforest?” Said Okapi. She hadn’t met many RainWings, but she was almost positive that leaving the rainforest wasn’t a common wish for them to make.
"I mean, endless fruit and sunlight and all that stuff is awesome, but I don't really... think I need it. If I go to Possibility, though, I'll get the stuff I need, sunshine and fruit, and get to able to live with other dragons. You really just need two things from the rainforest, and if I just take the essentials, I'll still have an awesome life while being able to meet different tribes."
“If we can get a permission slip from Principal Tsunami for leaving school grounds, we can fly over to Possibility! It’s in the dessert near the oasis,” said Okapi.
"Wait, seriously? We'd be following rules while going somewhere my parents would disapprove of! It's gonna be awesome." Bright yellow spread over her scales with excitement. "Hey, I heard it has hybrids every single step! Is that true?" Wistful asked.
“I mean…since the war is over…well…their still not super common…so…” Okapi shook her head then said, “no. Only some. You know, we could also go there without a permission slip.”
"My policy is to only break the rules when it's urgent or the rules are unfair. But it sort of is kind of unfair, because if you live there, which you do, who's to stop you from visiting your home? I mean, it's not like it's dangerous. I guess it'll only be for a little bit, and we won't cause any trouble." Wistful said, a bit unsure. "Wait, can I bring Basil? He always comes with me. Or will someone eat him?"
Okapi thought about that for second then, “someone will definitely eat him. And, it will probably take three days. Maybe two and half…”
"Two and a half? Even maybe three? That's absurd! I-. I- I guess i'll go. But I HAVE to find some good dragonet to take care of Basil. Maybe that Rainwing from cave seven? No, the Seawing there would probably eat him alive. Ooooh, maybe that Mud-Sky hybrid who likes foxes? Wait, she seems irresponsible. Okay, I'm settled on my friend Glowmoon. Let's start voyaging, I guess. Bye Basil, you're in great claws and I'll be back before you know it!" Wistful said.
“You know. I know the healers son, Cacao who loves taking care of animals. He’s only three and doesn’t actually attend the school, but he’s around and he’s very smart,” said Okapi.
"Oh. Cacao it is, then, because as nice as Glowmoon is, she doesn't really like animals too much. I only settled on her because she was my friend. You hear that, Basil? You're gonna meet someone new!"
