September Challenge - Celebrating Libraries!

Pre-covid, it was great to see our libraries buzzing with people, activities and beautiful displays of books. I thought about how lucky we are to have such a wonderful resource, and even with the pandemic they continue to cater to our needs!

So this month let's celebrate our local libraries.

Choose from the following list...

Easy: 3 books (at least one Aussie)
Medium: 6 books (at least two Aussies)
Hard: 9 books (at least three Aussies)

Make sure you check out the challenge guidelines here

#1.This one is too easy! Read a book you have borrowed from the library OR if you are in lockdown and your library is closed then treat yourself and read any book you like.

#2. There are libraries all over the world! Read a book set in another country than your own.

#3. Every book you can imagine is in a library somewhere. Read a book from your favourite genre.

#4. Does your library arrange its fiction from A - Z? Read a book where the author or title starts with an A.

#5. Does your library organise authors to visit and give talks? Read a book by a favourite author.

#6. My library lets me borrow up to 10 books at a time. Read a book where you can spell T.E.N. in the title (in any order)

#7. Libraries have been in existence for centuries. Read a book from the genre of Historical Fiction.

#8. Because libraries are special, read a book which features (either title or content) a library, bookshop or is about books.

#9. Best of all libraries provide a welcoming place for people to gather. Read a book with more than one person on the cover.

That's a great theme, thank you Brenda! Libraries have been absolute heroes during our lockdowns here in Melbourne, organising click and collects and delivering books to people who couldn't come to them, organising book bags on request based on people's borrowing history, etc. I am still chipping away at my 2 yearly challenges but should be able to do the Easy one and fit in 3 books.

#1.Read a book you have borrowed from the library
Blood Sisters by Jane Corry(borrowed during lockdown thanks to click & collect!)

#2. There are libraries all over the world! Read a book set in another country than your own.
Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi

#6. Read a book where you can spell T.E.N. in the title (in any order)
The Girl Remains by Katherine Firkin (also from my local library)
