Jezzy | 36 comments i'm curious on how this works. ever since the pandemic began, i have never attended anything virtual on Zoom. so, this will be my very 1st!

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9539 comments Jezzy, I hope you enjoy the experience. I have revelled in virtual events of all kinds, from church to lectures to author events to book group discussions to concerts/music events to film lectures and discussions. It has enabled me to attend events outside my local area, which especially for author events has been a treat. It has kept me connected with the things I love during this pandemic. I hope some of these will continue post-pandemic. Let us know how you do! And for your first event I suggest you join a little early in case you run into any difficulty you need to troubleshoot.

Jezzy | 36 comments Carol, i have to admit that i hesitated before i finally downloaded the app. i just remembered when my close friend back in my home country shared her 1st experience. she had no idea on how to use Zoom even though her teenage daughter guided her. she got so frustrated that she cussed on a live parents' meeting. her daughter was embarrassed & horrified. i'd rather be a silent audience behind the screen than to participate in a live meet-up. thanks for your piece of advice!

Ann (annrumsey) | 17057 comments Jezzy, when you are on Zoom, remember to look for the mute button.
It's nice to toggle that off when you want to talk, and mute when you don't. Many if not almost all events usually mute the audience from the organizer's control for the ones I have attended.
