Rick | 2281 comments I’ve been really enjoying these. Peter Purves steps for William
Hartnell in doing duo-duty as Steven and as the first Doctor. He handles it well, but his impression doesn’t quite work all the time, usually it’s good, but there are times that you can still Steven underneath his Doctor. On the other hand, I do find Frazer Hines’s turn as both Jamie and Patrick Troughton’s Doctor is as effortless as it is just about pitch perfect.
The stories themselves are quite good. Newly written, but the writers attempt to use the same general narrative style as to be consistent with the original episodes from the series. They have some narration, like the lost episodes that exist only as audio recordings now, that bridge the sequences of dialogue.
I also enjoy these as they focus on the first two Doctors, who are my favorites from the classic series era.
