Substance hi all

after a massive hiatus im trying to get back into my reading.

looking for a new series to get my head into ...
books that ive enjoyed in the past are game of thrones (obviously) even thou the last book he released was awful and i still havent finished it.
i really enjoyed the first books released by Joe Abercrombie. but i find his latest books a bit so so... im currently reading A Little Hatred and its ok but i havent been wowed by it yet..

Raymond E feist was also one of my firm favourites back in the day... especially when Magician came out.
Terry Brooks Shannara trilogies were also right up there for me.
Terry Goodkind was also decent
Robert Jordans Wheel of time ..havent finished the series cause by the time i caught up to the latest book he was still writing (will need to reread this one day)
Sara Douglass's Axis stories were also really good.

I did not enjoy Steven Erkisons books.. the Malazan stories... couldnt finish those.

its been so long that i dont really remember all the authors or stories that ive enjoyed.

so based on what i have enjoyed in the past can anybody recommend something new to check out?

cheers!

Edward Durand I am enjoying the Licanius Trilogy, I am in book 3.
Book 1: The Shadow of What Was Lost
Book 2: An Echo of Things to Come
Book 3: The Light of All That Falls

The Band, book one, Kings of the Wyld (my favorite)
Book two, Bloody Rose (most seem to like this one more) and book three is not out yet.

Hi, stick with the Abercrombie books, they're well worth it, also read "sharp ends" a collection of short stories set in the same world with some old (and some great new) characters.
One of the best series out there is Philip C. Quaintrell's The Echoes saga, 9 books in the series, and just get better as it goes on.
Anything by Brandon Sanderson, Mark Lawrence.
Don't read Patrick Rothfuss because you'll never get to read the third book.
Anthony ryan, The Waking Fire (The Draconis Memoria, #1) is brilliant.
