I am in love with this book! At first I was like *whats going on* which made me read more... then i was like BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM WOOOOW!

I love AERN and EMILY! both equally feisty and strong characters!

Kirsty (kirstysreviews) I'm hoping to finish the first book tonight. I am conflicted on my thoughts of Emily, and as the story goes on I'm finding Brianna more likable. I love Aern though, I stopped reading at quite the cliffhanger of a section earlier so I can't wait to get back to it. I NEED to know what happens!

Gemma Williams | 5 comments I feel like there wasn't enough world building. It was entertaining and I really enjoyed it; I finished it really quickly. But I still don't entirely understand what's going as she's just given us questions from the start with very little information to go on. I gave it three stars for this reason, but it would have been 4 if she had just introduced it more and gave us a bit more information to go off from the start.

Kübra | 2 comments When I started reading I was like "What's going on, what just happened?!" but I then read more and it got really good!!

I LOVE AERN AND EMILY!! The romance gives me life

I really didn't have that many problems with the world but of course it would've been better if we got a real explanation. It all makes sense in the end though!

I am now almost finished with the second one and it's REALLY good!!!!

MeaganReads I enjoyed this book a lot! The beginning kind of had me like O_o so, of course, I had to keep reading!

I'm not so sure how I feel about Emily... She seemed to annoy me sometimes but I love her and Aern together.

I flew through this book! I still feel like the beginning should have given us a little more insight as to what was going on... Information about who and what Aern and his brother, Council, etc are, just to give readers more of a general understanding of what is going on.

With that said, I did think the beginning left out enough to make readers want to continue reading to see what the heck was going on.

Again, I loved it!

I completely agree! I was like that person in movies who stands around asking "what's going on" throughout it XD. Haha but I have to say that the next installments are really, really good and the world definitely starts making more sense.

Gemma Williams | 5 comments I shall definitely be carrying the series on :) It was enjoyable enough for me to want to carry on, plus I figured it would get more detailed later on. Thanks for confirming that for me though, Niah :)

Matilda (matildafj) So I just joined this lovely book club today and was wondering when you are going to start book two in the series? So I know how fast I will have to read the first one, haha. :)

I felt the same way. (and I also gave it 3 stars.) I'm not sure if I want to continue on with the series, though.

Hmmm, I have to say that I think the next books are worth the reads. They're even shorter and I've enjoyed them much more. They make much more sense! I promise! Slowly but surely :)

Kelly (kllyk) | 7 comments Just finished the first book and I didn't really like it. From the start I had this feeling that I was missing a huge part of the story and imho it didn't really get any clearer towards the end. For that reason I never really got into the story. There were just too many questions unanswered. Not sure if I will read the other books in the series this month. Maybe someday...

Joe (JoeReadsBooks) | 2 comments I'm finding this book very hard to keep reading, I don't believe it's as gripping as it should be. With 14 chapters left in the book I'm hoping that it'll pick up very soon! Please tell me it get more exciting soon...I should point out that I'm gonna finish the book in the next day or two.

I had the same issue with this book. It does get a bit better towards the ending.

Katie Brock | 5 comments I've almost finished the first book and it just wasn't for me. I like that the main protagonist is male but I really didn't feel for the characters and after getting this far I still don't know exactly what the powers they have are. Why Emily is the (spoiler)

The ending picked up, like the final two chapters, and even though I flew through it- this book wasn't for me and unfortunately I won't be continuing the series

Cristina Good plot and interesting story line, but the world building was weak. I felt like part of the story was missing. I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't constantly confused.

Gabriel (gabrieelbs) I couldnt participate back in Feb, but i read this book this month and i didnt like it very much. As Gemma said, it didnt have enough world building and i felt lost with a lot of questions and no answers about the powers, the society etc. But it was enjoyable and a really quick read. :)
