Cheryl | 1171 comments I am skipping this one. I tried reading it years ago, and just couldn't connect with the main character. I gave it another shot a few weeks ago, and the book still wasn't something I wanted to continue. Not horrendous, but just not for me.

I am enjoying it so far. I am a sucker for a hard-boiled private dick.

Sarah (sarahmott) | 467 comments I’m a huge fan of the alphabet mysteries, and it killed me when Sue Grafton died right after completing “Y is for Yesterday.” I often thought it would be a great homage if they made a “Z” book full of short stories about Kinsey Milhone written by various female detective novelists. Sara Paretsky would definitely be at the top of that list of must-have contributors.

Kelly | 199 comments I remember seeing a movie on tv starring Kathleen Turner as the main character, Vic. I really liked the character and I've always been a KT fan. So as I'm reading this, I keep hearing/seeing her. :P

Alan Lewis | 0 comments My late wife read many of the books in the series, but I never got around to them. Most of my library was disposed of when I moved from California, and mostly read Kindle books as I have just moved back to the west coast for hopefully my last move as I am getting to old for such things. One chapter in and I am liking it so far.

Moving is the worst. I always joke that if I have to do it again, I am just burning the house down and walking away.

Almost did that this time. Moving to South Carolina I rented a 21' truck. Back to Oregon 6 years later everything into a 6x12 trailer. South Carolina was the 8th state I have lived in during my 70 years. Moved in with my son so lots of things were sold or taken to the dump.

Sarah (sarahmott) | 467 comments The worst part about moving is hanging up pictures again lol. It usually takes me 6-8 months after the move to get around to it
