Cheryl Olson (girlsmama) | 694 comments Oh I'm so, so, excited for this one as I was delighted by the members that helped me out with it. Every month you will be given 5 titles from which to choose from. These are 5 of the top reads from some of your fellow members for last year. These are some great books and I'm excited for you to see your choices every month. Also included will be a few recommendations for upcoming new releases! If by chance you have read all 5 choices, you can choose to read one of the new releases ---->WHEN it is available! (some aren't out yet), or you can peruse the list of some of the other favorites from some of your members from previous months at this link- https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Also, if you would like to "reveal" to the group if this is your list, then feel free to do so, but you don't have to!

Honestly, I think one of my favorite parts of the group is sharing our love of reading and reading new books based on each other's recommendations, so I thought to myself, why not create a challenge featuring my favorite aspect of the group? And so for September, here are your 5 books to choose from, as well as 2 new releas

1. Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay

2. Secrets (The Michelli Family Series #1) by Kristen Heitzmann Secrets by Kristen Heitzmann ( and the 2 sequels)

3. Bookends by Liz Curtis Higgs Bookends by Liz Curtis Higgs.

4. Harvest of Rubies (Harvest of Rubies, #1) by Tessa Afshar Harvest of Rubies by Tessa Afshar

5. Hinds' Feet on High Places An Allegory Dramatizing the Journey Each of Us Must Take Before We Can Live in "High Places" by Hannah Hurnard Hinds' Feet on High Places: An Allegory Dramatizing the Journey Each of Us Must Take Before We Can Live in "High Places" by Hannah Hurnard

And the new releases that this member was looking forward to reading-
Mountain Laurel (Kindred, #1) by Lori Benton Mountain Laurel by Lori Benton and Daughter of Cana (Jerusalem Road, #1) by Angela Elwell Hunt Daughter of Cana by Angela Elwell Hunt

This member was so helpful and did a lot of great reading last year! Thanks so much!

Missy, do you want to buddy read Dear Mr. Knightley? If not, that's totally okay. If yes, what day this month works for you to begin?

message 11: by Missy (new)

Missy | 980 comments That sounds good. I had to look to make sure it was still available to download through the library. We could start next Tuesday? Get through the holiday and then begin.

Bonny (bonnybonnybeth) | 694 comments Hi everyone!! This was my list. All books I totally loved, though I'm sorry several of them are ones you've already read. I'm not always as quick at reading new releases as you all are! Although any of these would also be worth a re-read. Enjoy! =)

I wasn't able to get a hold of a copy of Bookends by Liz Curtis Higgs , so I am going to settle in for an enjoyable re-read of Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay .😊

Bonny, I totally meant to reply to your statement but forgot after work that day you posted it.

Don't worry about not reading new releases fast. We each have our own pace. I, for one, love a good reread, so I was very excited when I realized Dear Mr. Knightley would be my read this month. It's been quite a while since I read it, and it feels like visiting old friends I haven't seen in forever. I'm so glad this book was on your list.

Staci, did you notice if anyone revealed in August? I don't have a note on that one.

It's totally okay if said person wants to remain anonymous. I'm just checking in case I missed it. :)

Just checked and I don't have August. This is completely ok as you mention.

Thanks, Staci! I figured if neither of us knew, the reveal didn't happen. :)

Thanks, Andrea!! I love rereading also, and you're definitely right that Dear Mr. Knightley is a good one to reread!! I actually reread it immediately after I read it for the first time, it was so good!

Wow, that's incredible! I remember thinking right after I read it: "Man, I could totally reread this RIGHT NOW." But I refrained from doing so because I had others to get to. I'm so glad you DID reread it right away. Sounds like it would be a super happy reading day(s) to read it back-to-back.
