Take a breather with the adorable contemporary romance, Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean.

Reminiscent of The Princess Diaries, Jean takes readers on trip down memory lane with a modern Japanese inspiration, as a young Asian-American girl finds out that her estranged father is actually the Crown Prince of Imperial Japan. This book has an expected sequel in 2022.

What are your thoughts on this book? Do you think a twist on The Princess Diaries will go well? Have you read anything by Jean before, and if so, how did you feel about it?

Christine | 142 comments I have not read any other books by Emiko Jean. I loved The Princess Diaries series when I was younger. The Goodreads description also reminds me of Rachel Hawkins' Royals duology. I am looking forward to learning more about Japanese culture in this book.
