okay so i'm on chapter 13 now and idk maybe that's just me but it feels like there was so much happening but at the same time nothing really happened in the first 12 chapters? it's so weird i dont even know how to explain this but there was like (the ball) and that would be abt it? like lowkey nothing else comes to my mind and it has been 12 chapters, i expected a little more :(

chapter 13: (view spoiler)[ the MC is annoying me 😐 why couldn't she pair up with luke, since she would've had a man that she pretty much knew would not treat her like shit and also probably wouldn't have to romantically engage with, since he's gay? not only that but she could have avoided making a scene in front OF THE KING AND HIS GUARDS and with that she could have avoided getting her parents into this whole mess???? don't get me wrong im not justifying the system this book's world is under but ?? she could've attempted to run away after the ball, with luke and even maybe with erin her gf? i am so confused and i got soooooooo mad when she accused her dad of not standing up to the king for her, omg as if the whole family wouldn't get killed then? "it's okay as long as im the one who dies" (i didnt cite it word for word excuse me) SOPHIA GIRL IS IT BETTER FOR YOU IF YOUR PARENTS DIE FOR YOU??? no this left me speechless (hide spoiler)] uhm yea sorry for this massive rant lmao

I really don't like Sophia, she just expecting everyone would sacrifice their lives for her like GIRL????
