There is another Holmes group on Goodreads - Baker Street Irregulars - but they discuss everything - movies, TV shows, pastiches and new fiction - so they are different but some might want to join both.A group dedicated to the canon is a good idea, I don't think there's another group that does that so I like the spin here, but if you are not familiar with the Granada Sherlock Holmes series of the 80s and 90s, you should check it out. They wanted to make the programs faithful to the canon, even to having the actors look like the old illustrations. The downside is that some of the stories that were stretched into feature length didn't work so well, and the main actor - Jeremy Brett, who played Holmes - became ill around the last seasons and it did affect his performance. But there are a lot of episodes that are totally faithful to Conan Doyle.

Hey Ms Barbara!
I'm glad you think our initiative is a good idea. The plan was to get folks into reading the Canon, because there are those who watch the newer films/series (e.g., Sherlock) and probably never read the original books. You're onto something: I'm a huge fan of the Granada series. JB is one of my absolute favorite actors. The early seasons were faithful to the Canon, for sure. I'll consider having a section dedicated to the Granada series. What do you think?
Thanks!
