A modern-day pulp heroine some members of this group might be interested in is Christopher Mills' Femme Noir, a tough, no-nonsense lady detective who tangles with mobsters, mad scientists, espionage rings, and the occasional killer returned from the dead. :-) She appears in the comic book format; but her exploits so far (some of which can be read at the website, http://www.femme-noir.com ) also are collected in a graphic novel (or, in this case, I guess graphic short-story anthology), Femme Noir: Dark City Diaries, which is available at Amazon, but not yet listed on Goodreads. (If you're on Facebook, there's a fan group there, the Port Nocturne Irregulars.) I've read the selections that are on the website, and found them an engaging (tongue-in-cheek, but affectionate) homage to the pulp adventure yarns of the 30s and 40s.

Funny, there was a "Femme Noir" pulp type heroine in novel format a few years ago from an online publisher. She battled a demon invasion. I wonder if it's the same character.
It could be, but I really can't say for sure. Probably the only way to tell would be to get bibliographic info on the novel and see if the author(s) are the same (Christopher Mills is the actual creator of the Femme Noir character above, as I understand it, but the Dark City Diaries collection lists a co-author --named, if I recall correctly, Joe Staton). Or you could just read both and compare them. :-)
