Carol Ann I read this one with the Oprah Book Club back in 2005. We read THREE Faulkner novels in one summer! It was hard!

The Helps were excellent. I found them online:

Sean (fordest) | 36 comments It certainly wasn't easy. But it all came to together and I fully enjoyed it. As each new stream of consciousness started I was confused all anew. Dual Quentins.... Benjy's thought process...

I thought Jason was the easiest of the three to read, and the point when most of what I started to understand came together.

We all have problems in our families right? And I have read about families much more messed up than this. But it's still tragic.

Faulkner really has a way doesn't he. I was impressed with his ability to bring me into the story. I think the way he wrote the story help bring me into it as if I was part of it. The only other Faulkner I have read is Absalom! Absalom! and I didn't get it at all. I was worried about reading this one. Granted it was 30 years ago and I have matured immensely since then. I am glad that I gave Faulkner another chance and realized I can understand it, and I can enjoy it.
