What do y’all think of the Prequel?
I really liked it actually. I think it was really interesting to see that character's perspective and how everything played out before THG :)
I think.. I decided not to read the prequel (despite being OBSESSED with THG). everyone I know who read it ended up not liking it sadly:( buuttt I might reconsider after my THG re-read who knows? 😂

I liked it. I think the majority of people misunderstood the real meaning behind the book and its themes.......

I find the prequel difficult to get through. I must’ve DNF’d and picked it up again, at least 5 times.
I enjoyed the prequel, I wish it had added more to the original trilogy though. It has a pretty cover

I liked the prequel. I really enjoyed the nods/Easter eggs to the original series =) I thought it did add something.
SPOILERS FOR THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES
(view spoiler)
If you're interested, I did a whole spoiler filled blog review for it

I loved the trilogy; but I haven’t read the prequel. Should I read it?

Depends. I'd say give it a try, but that's just my opinion

I wish I had the whole series. I got the first book for free from my local library many years ago. A paperback copy.

I have a paperback cover at my house to, but it’s all soft.
I have the trilogy in paperback and the prequel in hardcover

Also, I think a lot of people might've been disappointed by the book because one person online made an incorrect post about how they thought the book was about Haymitch's games and then hundreds of people were like "I'm so excited for more Haymitch content!" and then they actually read the book and it wasn't that
True…but I do think a Haymitch book needs to be in our future. I feel like Collins could also write some high quality novellas for Finnick and Johanna

Awesome!

I loved all 4 books! I would love Suzanne Collins to release another prequel with any previous character's games!!!
I personally want a book with haymitch's games in it. I enjoyed the little piece we got in catching fire and I think it would be awesome if she'd do a book from haymitch's perspective about the games he was in
I just started rereading it today. I forgot how good it is! I never liked Katniss, but she's starting to grow on me.
I started rereading recently too! I’m at the interview part
my brother lost my hunger games book >:( I grabbed it from my shelf...surprise surprise, it was just the dust jacket! no book! poof gone just like that

I’m currently rereading The Hunger Games, and, is it just me, or does Katniss’s relationship with Gale (romantically) seem a bit forced? I mean, I’m barely in the middle of the first book, but I feel like the sudden love thing in Catching Fire is like a forced attempt at a love triangle. I love this series, but I could never 100% get on the Gale love boat. I know that Katniss is barely at the age where she would be catching feelings and I know that she and Gale are friends and all, but she says this in chapter 1 of THG: “There’s never been anything romantic between Gale and Me.” And what, Katniss just started crushing on Gale all of a sudden? It just doesn’t make sense. It just feels like a bunch of added romantic drama and tension that doesn’t make sense.
