Thoughts on this one?

Chris G. | 2 comments I thought it was excellent!

Cathy | 27 comments What can I say? Jeff Zentner is so good at these thoughtful, gorgeously written, generally boy-centered but equally popular with girls, character-driven Southern dramas. Since I'm from the part of Connecticut the school is in, he didn't QUITE get a few details about the Gold Coast right, but I can live with that. I love how characters/incidents from the other books make cameo appearances. I see this as a Printz Honor contender, just not sure it's what the Printz committee will be looking for this year . . .

Brittin (brittsc) | 40 comments Never read Zentner before but I have now added his books to my TBR list. Such achingly beautiful writing! The poetry in his writing is clear from the beginning, and the book made me feel everything Cash was feeling. I would think it's a contender.

Amy (librarianamy) | 2 comments This was one of the best audiobooks I've listened to in a long time! I just loved Cash's voice (just started listening to Roxy by Shusterman which has one of the the same narrators but is NOT nearly as wholesome and loveable as Cash!) While I definitely think this should be a Printz-worthy book, I am typically never on the same page as the committee. I highly recommend never-the-less!

I also listened to this (I listen to most of my books) and agree, it was very well done.

Jean | 1 comments This is the best book that I have read in a long time. Into the Wild Light made me actually slow down and read and enjoy and reread lines, which is a big change from racing through books just to get them done. Beautiful book.

Brittin (brittsc) | 40 comments The more I think about it the more I realize I would love to see this one get some love come award season. I would still consider The Firekeeper's Daughter and A Sitting in St James as more likely to win the Printz, but this is a lovely, quiet, sweet book with writing that sticks with you. Or with me at least. :)

Heather | 50 comments Just wow. The quality of the prose is breathtaking. Printz honor or it’s robbed. The tender character development. Sense of place. Depth of emotion. It’s beyond spectacular.

Brittin (brittsc) | 40 comments Agreed!
The more I mull over my favorite books from the year, the more I find myself routing this one on. I'm hoping A Sitting in St James, Firekeeper's Daughter and In the Wild Light all receive at least an honor.
