So this is a little bit of a strange topic but i'm hoping your collective wisdom can help me. I'm very keen on short stories not only for my own enjoyment but being a short story writer myself i'm always looking to learn from the great and others. So recently i read the Collected Stories of Tennessee Williams and loved it. Williams is of course much better known for his plays than his short stories but they were brilliant. I am currently reading the Complete Stories of Truman Capote. Again someone who is better known for other things but writes great short stories. So i was wondering....are there any other writers who are better known for other things, say novels or plays or whatever, but who wrote great short stories?
