Walking with Pearls: Personal Pearls on Sacred Words that Revive the Soul’s Heart
Salam my debut novel is called The Celestial Ashes. It's an Islamic epic sci-fi fantasy: On Andar, the Zaryan Empire flourishes in the floating city of Nur-Shahar, a civilization of poets, scholars, and ancient faith. Built upon the remnants of a destroyed world, Nur-Shahar chose, eight centuries ago, to remember its lost history. Within this fragile peace lives Prince Zayn al-Zaryan, a dreamer in a dynasty of warriors. But when his secret romance with Princess Seraphina of the rival Solari Dominion is exposed, the ensuing scandal ignites a war that threatens to consume both empires.
Inspired by the fall of Granada—the last Moorish kingdom in Spain—and drawing on the aesthetic and intellectual traditions of Moorish Islamic civilization, The Celestial Ashes constructs a far-future world from a real historical wound. Its floating cities, flying horses, and forbidden weapons root it in science fantasy, while its politics, grief, and reckoning with power are firmly grounded in history.
Morally complex, politically treacherous, and emotionally devastating, this epic explores the weapons we forge, the hatreds we inherit, and the perilous choice between peace and pride that determines whether a civilization survives or learns, too late, the true cost of its choices.
In simple terms, The Celestial Ashes is a sci-fi fantasy epic about:
Two royal brothers whose love, pride, and choices tear their world apart, and one of them is trying to fix it before it’s too late.
At the center is Zayn, a kind and thoughtful prince who falls in love with a princess from an enemy nation. That relationship sparks a chain reaction. His brother Malik, who becomes king, turns more and more ruthless and power-hungry.
Zayn is betrayed, exiled, and loses everything. While surviving in the desert, he grows from a passive, gentle prince into someone strong enough to lead. Meanwhile, Malik’s obsession with power and ancient super-weapons pushes the world toward destruction.
By the end, it becomes a deeply personal conflict:
Brother vs. brother
Love vs. duty
Power vs. mercy
Zayn’s ultimate challenge isn’t just to defeat Malik, it’s to break the cycle of violence that keeps repeating in their world.
So at its core:
It’s a tragic, epic story about
👉 how power and pride destroy people
👉 how love can spark both hope and disaster
👉 and whether forgiveness can stop history from repeating itself
