Well, teens may be more likely to cry (or tag aggressively) and I tear up at absolutely everything but this did nothing for me.
The first book of Mortal Instruments series. A big turn-off for me this book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, not as abrupt as some, but not a satisfying story on its own. A smaller turn-off these teens (definitely as young as 15, maybe up to 18 but hopefully not much more than that) are just running wild on their own. One has a parent that he never seems to contact, though the others seem orphaned or abandoned. Rather unusually I was super confused by the time period. Published in 2007 it makes sense the kids have cell phones but not smartphones, but why is there so much goth and smoking, is it the 90s!? I have to assume the author was drawing on her own teen years. The author’s series are popular, and teen series are not my favorite, so I’ll yield to public sentiment.
