Hello, and welcome to Christian Fiction Devourers! We are so excited to have you as part of our group.

At first glance, our group discussions can appear overwhelming, but please don’t let that deter you from joining our discussions. The best way to get started is to stop by our Welcome Center and introduce yourself in our Welcome to Christian Fiction Devourers discussion thread. (That’s where you can receive virtual warm fuzzies!)

Once you’re ready to get more into the group, take a look at the Book Talk section and the Reading Recommendations, two great places to find out about Christian books you may not even know existed. If you’re just looking for a great group of Christian readers to share life with, then check out our For the Conversationalists section. We discuss pretty much anything and everything about life in general in this section, while keeping it clean of course. We also share and lift each other up with our prayer requests. We have lots of reading challenges to choose from as well.

Remember, there are no participation requirements in our group, so join in as much or as little as your schedule allows. I hope you will feel at home here, and I look forward to your input in our discussions.

As we like to keep our discussion board tidy, we request that only moderators may create new threads. Any threads that are added by non-moderators are subject to immediate deletion without explanation. We have a wide variety of threads to enjoy, and we hope you'll join in the discussions. If you aren't sure where your question or comment belongs, please ask a moderator. Any suggestions for new threads should be mentioned for moderator consideration in the Updates & Suggestions thread. Welcome to Christian Fiction Devourers! We are so excited to have you as part of our group. We have many different areas that will hopefully fit what you are looking for here on Goodreads and in our group.

Please feel free to stop by our Author Intro & Promotions folder and introduce yourself in our Author & Book Introductions discussion thread. This is the thread in which you may share a bit about yourself and your books.

Please respect our group’s decisions regarding certain material by not posting books that contain profanity or explicit sexual scenes. We do ask that you refrain from using our group as a promotion board for your books and respectfully ask that you please read over our Group Guidelines thread before posting.

As difficult as it is to address these issues, we must, as this rule has been dishonored many times, and unfortunately very few actually take the time to read our guidelines, thus we’ve had to add this rule to the welcome letter so that all new authors are aware of it: We respectfully ask that you do not start new discussions to advertise your books or ask questions that are only relevant to your book or pertain only to your book. (Any discussion doing so will be immediately deleted.)

If you’ve not previously read them, I encourage you to read Goodreads’ Author Guidelines as well. They recommend, “If you join a group, participate as a reader first. Once people see you are a passionate and friendly member of the group, then you can discuss your own work.” Our members love when you share your struggles, triumphs, or everyday life events instead of just “promoting” your book. Those authors that have taken the time to interact with the group have found many new fans within our group. I hope you will find some new fans here as well, and I look forward to your input in our discussions.
