I recently picked up The Forest of Stolen Girls by June Hur because I liked the cover. I'll fit this in here!
I'm going to go with Race Marxism: The Truth About Critical Race Theory and Praxis by James Lindsay who has published this book independently through his brilliant 'New Discourses' organisation.
I read The Bookseller of Dachau for this prompt!!! A fantastic book, I couldn’t but it down!!! Highly recommend!!
Will by Kat Savage - I have lived here for 5 years. My children were invited to a birthday party last year for a kiddo from school and come to find out she is my neighbor. I have read one of her books. I look forward to reading all things Kat Savage, eventually
I read Three Twins at the Crater School by Chaz Brenchley -- classic girls school story set on Mars!

The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellispublished by the children's division of an independent publisher out of Canada (at least as far as I can figure it out)
A children's book but worth the read.
“The 5 Second Rule: Transform your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage” by Mel Robbins. Published by Savio Republic under the umbrella of Independent Publisher, Post Hill Press.
I’m going to read “Daddy’s Diary, The War Journal of B-17 Pilot Lt. Edwin “Snake” Walkup” which was written and published by his daughter Helen Walkup Cairns.
Blue Label by Eduardo Sánchez Rugeles is literary fiction set in Venezuela about teenagers on a road trip, trying to find a way to deal with the collapse of a country around them. I found it well-written and engaging. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Here is my review
I read The Promise that was recommended by an independent bookstore. It was the 2021 Booker Prize Winner. Excellent! This is my last prompt other than the “read in November” prompt.

An independent or indie book is a term used to describe publishing a book without a traditional publisher. For this prompt, you could choose a book published by an independent publisher (not one of "the big 5"), or an indie author. You could also interpret that as a book purchased from an independent bookstore or bookseller. This could be a read in any genre and any format! It might also be the perfect time to read a friend or family member’s self-published work!
