Don | 4 comments As a new member it has been suggested I elaborate on my interests. I started young, or I should say, my parents started me young, in reading, and reading, memorizing and studying together, books from Tozer (and listening to his sermons), Watchman Nee, St. Augustine, Billy Graham (and going to his sermons and crusades), personal nonfiction life stories, like Jungle Pilot, and others who lived a Christ-led-life, converted, overcame, or suffered, and The Bible. In fact, The Bible, is my most read book. I read and reread The Bible several times a year, and in parallel utilize Strong’s Bible Concordance to examine further. However, history and prophecy has always captivated me. Therefore, I read loads of history or history related books, for comparison. For example, James Ussher’s Annals of the World, ancient Mediterranean (Mycenaean, Greek, Roman, etc.), Assyrian, and likewise earliest Middle Eastern culture’s, script and texts, The Book of Enoch, all the apocrypha books that are included in the Christian Study of Theology, and books on the deepest relationship with God, identical to, and including, The Cloud of Unknowing. Four reasons for this; to consistently find a deeper understanding of God, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit, to combat Satan and his ongoing evil, wicked vices and delusions, I enjoy reading these choices - - - and given that I’m a (published) Middle East analyst, persistently studying the Middle East region, I am constantly asked about prophecy and Christianity in relationship to the Middle East. Which is where all the Biblical Action will eventually take place. With my biggest readership and followers in Asia and the Middle East (with rumors of China, Pakistan, and Iran, but not confirmed as Christians can and are executed for being a Christian or associated with Christianity). Oh, and I like humor, reading old copies of Peanuts, BC, and 'some' of The Far Side’s single-panel comics (yes, I know The Far Side is controversial, particularly in this PC or woke generation).

Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments Hi Don, welcome to this group, and particularly this author section. Isn't it wonderful when parents forward their love for books to their kids? My parents did so as well. So, have you published books or articles? (you are an analyst I understand).

Thank you Marja. It is indeed loving when parents share and encourage the reading about the Lord. Yes, I'm a Middle East analyst and for the past ten or eleven years been blogging in the Times of Israel, and a writer and contributing writer in Opinion in The Christian Messenger, India (once the 8th largest world Christian readership). Among other online outlets, magazines, and non-public venues. Plus, I have four books/eBooks on Amazon. Three have Christian messages, one is for the general public.
One, the nonfiction eBook, The Knights of Consuming Fire, is currently free, on promotion for free thru Sunday the 17th USA time, and anyone can download it. I did put the promo on this group site a couple days ago under Author meet and greet, but maybe I did it wrong. Thanks again for welcoming me. It's nice to get a personal greeting. Here is the link for the free eBook promo till Sunday the 17th: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...
