Ann Kuch | 1 comments This book was written more than 30 years ago. The title should include the word "stone". It is about a jeweler/stonecutter who finds a unique diamond or another gemstone that has the ability to cure illnesses. The title may also include three numbers.

Ann, what's the genre (which we need to add to the header/ topic title) - e.g., fantasy novel for kids, teens or adults? mystery?

Please add more plot details to the header "Novel about a magical stone". You can copy from what you've already written in the first comment. Someone is more likely to recognize your book. If you need help with this, just post a new comment.

Stone 588 by Gerald A. Browne - Ayshe's suggestion - sounds like your book.

Google Books preview:
https://books.google.com/books?id=KhZ... There are different cover images.

Quotes from the book:
- "I asked, Does this stone have he power to heal?"
"The power to make right would have been more precise," Mattie said. "To the old mystics a healing was a righting, a correcting of physical faults."
- Told of how yesterday his brother, Philip, had come down from New York bringing along the stone and stories of its power to heal. Norman gave a secondhand account of what the stone had obtensibly done for Janet and Libby.
- "The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Jews, Christians - what-haveyou - all put a lot of stock in their various amulets. In fact, no less a man than Aristotle credited certain precious stones with the ability to cure.
