October's read... how did you get along with it?
-What did you think of the book?
-Would you recommend it?

This book was not for me, it lacked something for me. I think the world building is fantastic, I wanted to explore it all, I wanted to delve deeper and meet more characters but I felt the story line just limped along for me. I wanted more to happen all the time, the beginning I was utterly drawn in and it seemed like a cool concept, slightly different take on witches but after the first few chapters I was a little bored.

I would recommend this book, I think it would talk to the right person and it could lead into a great series but it isn't for me. Overall I would rate it 2.5 - 3 stars.

At first I kept getting Studio Ghibli vibes, did anyone else? I can't think of why my brain linked these two up.

I agree, I’m working my way through the book, but it’s not gripping me, and I so wanted it to. I have no curiosity about the characters, which for me is very important.

The next book is ‘the comfort book’ by Matt Haig. I’m very much looking forward to this one, I really enjoy his books.

So I’m made it through the book! Surprisingly I actually started to like it 250 pages in. Not sure I will read the next few ones, it was hard going and took a long time for me to embrace the characters and storyline.
