Tyler Holme | 3 comments I just released my first satirical book entitled Beet Life, and I think you may get a kick out of it!

Beet Life is an absurd satire of health & lifestyle and social media influencer culture written from the perspective of a fictional health & lifestyle blogger known on Instagram as @beets_by_beth.

After receiving over 100 followers on Instagram, Beth has decided to do what every extremely successful social media influencer does when they amass a huge following: write a self-help book full of unsolicited life advice for whoever will read it!

Life isn’t always easy. However, Beth has been doing GREAT at it recently. In this book, Beth offers you - her loyal #beetbabes - sage wisdom and guidance so that you can find the best version of yourself and be more like her! You will learn how to effectively improve your name to fit your true personality, how to identify which of your friends may be a sneaky snake out to sabotage you, the perfect amount of revenge to seek on a recent ex, and ultimately how to Beet Life. The book also features full-color photos of Beth (and her Domestic Lover Greg), illustrations by Beth, and some of Beth's favorite beet-based recipes.

Thanks,
Tyler

Sly Segreto (goodreadscomdrsly) | 7 comments I recently released my humorous satire, The Royal Rump, about a delusional King in the middle ages that truly believes his derriere is the 'seat' of power over the Kingdom. Thus he expects lawmakers, statemen - all citizens - to kiss, cuddle and embrace it (if they can get their arms around the monstrous thing). Maniacal King Grosso goes too far with his power mongering and is confronted by a young prodigy named Sabrina. It's a war with a surprise ending. Hope you get a chance to read it. Enjoy! Dr. Sly

Mathew Smith | 686 comments I read One Bird's Choice a little while ago and found it hilarious. A slightly cynical, overeducated guy who ends up moving back in with his parents. I think what was great about it was that it was so relatable, I could totally see myself in the situations the author gets himself into.

Tony | 1 comments I recently read a strange book I thought was v funny, but in a dark, wry kind of way. - Mistletoe - Last days in China. Its about this guy preparing to leave China, but he and his buddy have a weird funny relationship. Also there's some crazy stuff in it about China that I didn't know before.

P. S Rover (psrover) | 2 comments I hope I'm not breaking any Group etiquette here, but I'd be remiss joining a Humour Club without bothering to recommend Infernal Relations, a soon to be published laugh-out-loud novel.

*Synopsis*
Another academic season is in the offing at Lockwood Institute, the eclectic finishing school for those who've been barred elsewhere. When Spencer and his interloping cousin, Monty, are summoned back into the fray for a special assignment they quickly find themselves knee-deep in the thick of it with a trophy-hunting Brigadier on a quest to slay a mysterious beast, while his daughter, Natalia, proves a temptation too much for the fantastical Monty.

This heady concoction provides the perfect ingredients to rock institute life to its foundations.

As one staggering revelation unfolds after another, does Spencer have the fortitude to cope? Monty couldn’t possibly have done what people think, could he? Is he culpable? Is he capable?

As Spencer desperately tries to pull Monty's chestnuts out of the fire, a head-spinning discovery awaits them.
*****

It is much liked by LoveReading (the UK's leading book recommendation website) and judging by early ARC reviewers, by fans of E.W Bowman, James Thurber, Mark Twain, Jerome K Jerome, Grossmith et al. Lightness, of course, being of paramount importance throughout.

As the author I daren’t lay any claims upon its merits except to say that I hope people will find it a lighthearted diversion from the worries engulfing us in the news presently.

I hope you give it a try.

ARCs are available on
> www.psrover.com. (ePub & Paperback)
> NetGalley (http://tinyurl.com/4ubw5wtz)

Thank you.

Pete .S. Rover
P.S. As is only proper, I will, of course, follow this with recommendations of sublime humorous works by other authors.

P. S Rover (psrover) | 2 comments No one quite interweaves the plausible with the mindbogglingly absurd with huge helpings of sheer whimsy quite like James Thurber. I'm currently savouring his 'Alarms and Diversions'. Take this excerpt for instance:

"Nature and I have long felt that the hope of mankind is womankind, that the physically creative sex must eventually dominate the physically destructive sex if we are to survive on this planet. The simplest things last longest, the microbe outlives the mastodon, and the female's simple gift of creativity happily lacks the ornaments
and handicaps of male artifice, pretension, power, and balderdash."

Sublime.

Lucky Stevens | 6 comments I just released my first humorous book--A Man Walks into a Bank. It's a nice little mixture of humor, crime, and a dash of romance (not mushy)--think Foul Play, the movie.

Free for Kindle Unlimited members, and includes a lifetime of uninterrupted happiness. Guaranteed.* For everyone else, it's about the cost of a cup of coffee, depending on where you go...
