hello to the Group. I'm a late comer and a newbie at this " joining the group modus operandi. ". My love of Russian literature goes way back to college years, but newly awakened in 2019 after watching THE LAST CZARS on Netflix. Months later I managed a weekend in St. Petersberg before a conference in Helsinki. Well.... need I say more? Since then I've been delving into as much Russian history as time permits but have come across two sterling modern day writers - both female. Do check out SECOND HAND TIME -,, Svetlana Alexievich (2015 Nobel Prize for literature) and RUSSIA -Vera Tolz..I have them on my shelf and in my sights... Once I get through the Postmodernists... ;)
