Book Club+ MPC discussion

Hi everyone,

We are getting close to the end of our Fall selection, Once There Were Wolves. We are now at Chapters 25-26-27.

Inti's life has become more complicated. A meeting has been called at the school about the increase of dead livestock and the continued killing of wolves. Some children offer support to Inti about her rewilding efforts. Duncan confronts Inti about the pregnancy and tells her that he supports her. Inti is not yet persuaded to accept his offer.

Inti flashed back to when Aggie was attacked by Gus and James. Aggie had been changed forever by the incident and being reminded of that terrible day by her incident with Colm. Inti has a conversation with Bonnie about Duncan and Inti's initial thoughts of him being involved with Stuart's death. Inti thinks Bonnie doesn't believe her. Inti is still reeling from discovering that Duncan had a relationship with Lainey.

Inti comes across Duncan and Fingal his dog. They have been severely injured. The dog does not survive. Inti gets Duncan to the hospital and surgery. Inti believes that a wolf was the attacker.

Inti flashed back to her conversation with Gus after he attacked Aggie. It was revealed that Aggie was unable to have children after that brutal attack. Inti is in search of wolf number 10, she is angry at the wolf for the attacks and having to make the decision to end the life of this wolf and she does. Inti has contractions delivers her baby. She waits for help to come, but the wolves come also.

Can Inti ever let go of the Aggie's brutal attack? Can Aggie recover from that awful time? Will Duncan survive his attack? Can Inti emotionally recover from having to kill number 10? Will she and her baby survive until help arrives?
