As Murphy's Law would have it, the book I'm reading right now fits this category perfectly: Hunting by Stars (sequel to The Marrow Thieves). I'm sure there are LOTS of other great books out there!!

Listopia is here

message 2: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (fancynancyt) | 65 comments I highly recommend the Wayfarer series by Becky Chambers, first book i sThe Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. I'll be reading the third book for this one, I think.

message 9: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (debzanne) | 165 comments A book I read a few year ago for a different PopSugar challenge: Juliet Takes a Breath (especially if you're a fan of LGBTQIA+ novels). It was funny, and interesting, and a quick read, and thoughtful.

message 10: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie | 1028 comments If anyone still hasn't read (or caught up on) Saga, Vol. 1, this series totally works!

message 11: by Sofia (new)

Sofia Samu | 82 comments I chose A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik. Correct me if I wrong, but I have heard that she gets close friends throughout the book and they help each other survive the school.

message 12: by Alison (new)

Alison (alisonmeagan) | 24 comments Is it a little too effed up to read Helter Skelter for this one lol?? asking for a friend...

message 13: by Kat (new)

Kat | 45 comments My friend recommended Mercy House by Alena Dillon for this one.

yes, though i would say that the sequel is moreso found family than the first. but i personally think either would work!

Debbie (debzanne) | 165 comments I am just updating my currently-reading books (from October!) and was reminded that the Seafire series is 100% found family. So, Seafire, Stormbreak, and Steel Tide.

message 24: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 265 comments I think any book in the “In Death” series by JD Robb would count. Also the midnight, Texas series and Gunnie Rose series by Charlaine Harris.

If you're up for a buddy read type thing with it I'm here! I love buddy reads (I don't know if you do 🤣). I have it penciled in for February but I'm flexible.

I also think the Percy Jackson series, the Akata Witch series and Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles could work, especially later books in the series.

Jacqueline | 407 comments Fannie wrote: "I read The Trials of Morrigan Crow few months ago and it would fit in this category,"

Yeah Nevermoor is a good series. I've read the first 3 but the 4th is due out this year. Definitely "found family". That could be my book for this prompt. Or "published in 2022".

message 35: by Tassara (new)

Tassara (tassara_txt) | 13 comments i saw another reviewer mention found family in their review for The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne, so that'll be my selection for this prompt. i think it's fitting to celebrate found family with gwynne's latest release, given that he recently lost his own daughter not too long ago.
