Leato has a secret for sure. Why is he meeting with people to get information?

Vargo is talking to someone inside his head, super strange. He also seems to have plans that others don't know about.

Gray seems like a good captain. He knows what it's like to be poor and have others treat you bad. I'm glad he's trying to help the children (hide spoiler)]

End of part 2 (view spoiler)[ Leato no!! I really liked him, that's so horrible that he died.

Ren's old mistress lived through the poisoning and is back hurting people?? And now she knows Ren is back, that's not good. (hide spoiler)]

End of part 3 (view spoiler)[ The Rook knows that Ren is lying about who she is, but who is the Rook?? And now Giuna knows that Ren has been lying, though she still thinks they're cousins.

Things are getting intense and I'm getting worried for Ren (hide spoiler)]

End of part 4 (view spoiler)[ Vargo got what he wanted and is a royal house now, plus he has charters. Plus we know how evil he is, setting up the fire that killed Gray's brother and using Ren multiple times.

Gray is the Rook! After Leato died, Gray seemed likely but nice to have confirmation.

I wonder if Ren and Gray will team up in book two? Also if they'll have a romance at all. Hmm (hide spoiler)]

I'm sorry I missed this BR, Aly. I had a big life slump last month and couldn't really focus on any fantasy. I'm still planning on reading the book and the sequel in December and will catch up with your thoughts here, even though I know I've passed the BR dates :)
