So I read this book around a couple months ago i would say and to be perfectly honest, i didn't enjoy it.
The portrayal of depression in this book lacked depth and was a bit too romanticized to my taste. As someone who suffers from depression ( with high su1cidal tendencies :) ) I didn't find this book to be helpful at all and, while i understand that it was made to give hope, it felt way too simplistic.
It felt like the message of this book was simply "don't regret anything in your life cuz it could have been so much worse"🤪 and that's definitely not what you want to tell to a depressed person ...
The book felt also dreadfully long and i couldn't wait for it to be finished which isn't something positive when it comes to a book right ? :)
Overall, if it gave you a message of hope and genuinely helped you, i'm so happy for you !! but it didn't do the trick for me :')
You know, at first I was really enjoying the concept of it-like the plot line creeped me out ina good way and I read is just after Halloween and the in between life and death thing was kind of fresh and intresting, but Imafter reading some reviews I deftunderstand what you are saying. Things in life aren’t as cut and dry as they were in this book and not everything gets wrapped up into a pretty little bow. So yeah, I think it’s important to make that distinction when readings the story.
