1. Share your thoughts and reflections along the way, especially those that do not fit into one of the other questions.

I have to be honest I am very pleasantly surprised with this book. Frankly I had my doubts, and I didn't expect it to be so good, but it has been a very good read. I congratulate the one who recommended it, and it was not easy, because I have read good books about Joan of Arc. This would be the second best Joan of Arc book I've ever read, but the best is still this https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... by Pamela Marcantel, but it doesn't get much out of it. Of course, Twain's book is a hugely inspired book.

Mariangel | 725 comments I was surprised, in a good way, by the differences between the 3 parts of the book.

The first one is charming in the way it introduces her childhood friends, their games, the fairies, their concern about the ongoing wars and the first visions.

The second part is thrilling, but it balances the battles with the tavern scenes, the attention to each of the companions in arms of Joan, the victory celebrations in each town.

Finally, the third part is a total page turner, and I enjoyed the details of the trial, the traps and specially Joan's responses.

The novel of Pamela Marcantel she developed much better than Mark Twain the siege of Orleans, and the trial is a bit better but for me the best part of the Maek Twain`s novel it is the part of the trial. The Mark Twain`s novel it is a novel that it is improving in the process of reading every page is better than the previous page.

Fonch | 2474 comments I say because nobody have said it previously. I enjoy really much with the most hilarious character of the story with the Paladin overall when he is in the tavern and he told a fantastic story plenty of exagerations and the best is that he believes it. He reminds me very much to Ron Weasley in the Globet of Fire when he told the second labor of Harry Potter when he had to rescue of the sea creatures.

Crystal | 37 comments I enjoyed that scene of Paladin in the tavern spinning his tales also. I love that everyone is interested and he seems rather popular in this regard. Even with his exaggerations he’s not challenged on these stories.

I have missed a lot this character during the story, although the part of the trial is really, really good.
