Apollo (mean-old-man) This is a dedicated space to discuss our November read, Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, as it received the first place vote in the last poll.

Apollo (mean-old-man) Okay, so i havent actually finished it yet, but ive been REALLY enjoying it so far (having finally passed the 170 page character introductions 🤪 Tamsyn, please spare us)

despite having to google terms every 2 pages (Tamsyn. Tamsyn please not all of us work at Oxford) its really interesting!

Andrea (femlich) i'm also going to finish this late... but i also love it so far

Caro (caroj) | 2 comments I'm posting this late but I'm officially obsessed with Gideon the Ninth and I'm starting the sequel today. Definitely referenced the character list wayyyyy too much though lol.
I forget what I rated this but I'm not hard to please, prob 5 stars.

Apollo (mean-old-man) YES i for sure was flipping back and forth BASICALLY constantly trying to keep all those ducks in a row. i almost picked up Harrow the Ninth today but i had to put it back, i dont think my unread stacks would appreciate me adding another to the pile 🥲

Andrea (femlich) you guys had a character list for reference?? my audiobook readin' ass just suffered with not knowing any of the b-list characters' names lmao. i feel like i barely knew what was going on in this book at times, but in the best way. what i do know is that it hurt me :c

all the bone and death imagery was amazing, the concept of necromancer space lesbians is fucking phenomenal and original, and the chARACTERS??? astounding. gideon and harrow both have my heart. i absolutely plan on continuing this series at some point.
