It's epic and includes many of King's paths from the Dark Tower.

I think it's his absolute best use of plot, and despite his saying over and over that he never knows how things are going to end up, (hence the awful endings we sometimes get!) I feel he must have done some planning with this books because it's such a perfect through line.
