I just started this book yesterday: A house Without Windows by Nadia Hashimi. She is an amazing Author, I really recommend this book!

Hi everyone! I have a few suggestions.....1. A House Without Windows, 2. The Other Black Girl, 3. Transcendent Kingdom (my preference), 4. The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois. I am always a few years behind everyone so there is a good chance, you all have read these books already. Smiles and Excitement!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Transcendent Kingdom is a terrific book. Currently reading A Woman is No Man by Etaf Rum, very good so far. Another favorite is the Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Just Us by Claudia Rankine (loved it, book club for another group in January).

Oops, It didn't work out....ah....I love literature from authors from the Middle East, what a heart break!

Terri and Everyone -Based on Terri's message: I absolutely loved Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche and I too recommend this book if you haven't read it yet. I just looked in to Just Us by Claudia Rankine and I've added it to my list! Thank you Terri!

I have just finished reading The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See and this was a totally fascinating story! Its about the very unique sea diving woman of Juju island in Korea. Part of it is historical and part set in modern days. Their lives are just so different and that is what I found so interesting. Its a drama I guess but parts of it include war too.

I've only made it once--I rarely read during the day but then I don't go online at night, so this is a good time. I may be better at getting here once my son goes off to grad school (a happy/sad event--it's great for him but I'm closest to him out of all my kids which is just how it worked out.)
