Lucy’s meeting with her family was a disaster and that’s being kind. Your thoughts about how she handled the request and different members’ reactions? Who’s was the toughest?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Honestly, I expected her family to react differently. Most families want to know who murdered their loved one. I didn't understand why everyone was so angry, especially since so many are in law enforcement.

Her father's reaction broke my heart. He was the toughest. I never expected him to disown or threaten to disown Lucy.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I was surprised by how vehemently opposed they were. Like Lucy, I expected them to welcome a way to finally get answers as to why Justin died. Carina was the toughest. I was shocked that having been considered a suspect she wasn't jumping at the chance to finally solve this case. I was sad that Lucy's dad threatened to disown her if she continued.

Lucy’s ignorance about what really happened to her family caused her to go into that meeting blindsided. If she had known the reality, she would have prepared differently. Still, I thought their behavior unfair.

Yes, I was disappointed in Carina…that is, until I saw that transcript from the police investigation. She never recovered from that.

The person I was absolutely angry with was her father, Pat Kincaid. Has this man learned nothing about threatening his own children? Jack disappeared for almost 20 years! Lucy deserved better from her father.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments When I saw the transcript of Carina's interrogation I understood Carina's pain, but I thought that would make her more agreeable to finding the real killer. Was she afraid that someone would come back at her? She knows how police conduct investigations. I didn't get it.

That transcript revealed to me that Carina was severely traumatized and is not only still feeling guilty about Justin being abducted on her watch but also emotionally scarred as a result of being accused of murdering her nephew. She’s still back there.

Robin (robinmy) | 2465 comments I couldn't believe how the family reacted. Lucy' s father threatening to disown her was just too much. I agree, Jonetta. Pat Kincaid has not learned a thing about threatening his children.

I was also surprised by Carina. When she became a detective, she got the case file and took at stab at working the case. That tells me she wants it solved. Now she was reacting like she put had put everything behind her 20 years ago. I didn't understand her.

Robin that's how I feel too. If Carina hadn't looked at the case herself, I could see reliving the interrogation all over again with Lucy. I didn't see why she was so hostile when she wanted to solve the case herself. It didn't make sense.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I was taken aback by their overall reactions, but as others have said, the father's reaction was appalling. Did we ever see him apologize? I've already forgotten that detail. Poor Lucy, and yay, Sean.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9307 comments Mod
No, Patrick hasn’t apologized.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments Her dad was definitely the toughest and I give Lucy credit for not totally losing her temper, I was starting to lose mine!
I agree, Jonetta. Perhaps if Lucy had known more about what had happened when Justin was murdered and what her family had gone through she would have been better prepared.
