Kenna arrived at the boiling pond with acacia and john. She didn't notice Maxwell.

Mae stays as far away from the pond as possible. And draws in her jornal.

Jacob follows.

She talks to Jacob without looking up from the notebook " Sooo... your following me."

"Yes, because we're district-mates." Jacob says.

Acacia took one look at the pond and shook her head. “It’s boiling. We can’t drink Water here…we should find a river or something.”

"Not even if we let it cool down? You have a water bottle, I thought. Or would it melt the water bottle?" Kenna saw a flash of movement. "We aren't alone," she whispered.

"Oh. Okay. Should we go somewhere else, then?"

“There’s a river right?”

"Is there? I'm not familiar with the arena."

"If you're sure, let's go." Kenna paused. "Wait, who are you?"

“I trust him, I think,” Acacia added.

"Oh, okay. So, the river?"

"I think the river may be best," Acacia admitted. "And what if it does melt the water bottle, or is much too hot to drink?" She plucked a piece of grass from the ground and placed it in the river. It immediately sizzled and burned.

"Yeah. Let's go. Now," Kenna said. She didn't want to wait around any more.

Acacia nodded and led the way out of there. As she did, she looked at the ground, at the trees, and the soil, to see if she could find their source of water.

Trevor Brown immediately got eaten by the creature that lives in the pond. He died.
