I thought De Profundis was interesting, but the entire time all I could think was, "Wow, this is one toxic as hell relationship." It's a shame it ended with Wilde being punished and not the jerk 'friend'

Selena, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm partway through but likewise kept thinking how toxic the relationship seemed.

I appreciate Wilde's reflections on love vs. hate, but I think choosing love was not the core issue with a dysfunctional dynamic.
