Liz M 20.6 - Crime - In honor of Thérèse Raquin, read a book shelved as Crime at least 150 times OR where “Crime” is listed as one of the genres on the book's page.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 2612 comments I have a question, if the book on the list is a part of a series and it is the first book in the series, can we read any of the other books in the series? I am looking at The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. It is on the list but can we read any of the books in the series?

The individual book must qualify. I haven't check ALL of the books in the series, but the 4 I did check qualified as "Crime" was listed as a genre on the book page.

Krista (kacey14) | 1037 comments If the genre is shown as "Mystery > Crime" on the book page, does that count?

I'm specifically looking at The Handsome Man's Deluxe Café

Yes! That is exactly what is meant by "OR where “Crime” is listed as one of the genres on the book's page".

Yay! Thanks for the clarification! -- and the quick answer. I know what I'm penciling in for this task now. LOL

Elizabeth (Alaska) Using the awards section of Goodreads, and entering the search term Crime (case sensitive), brings up this list.

Not all of the awards nor all of the books within the awards will qualify for Prize Worthy or this task, but it might be fun to poke around if you have time.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 2612 comments The Full Cupboard of Life has mystery->>crime on its main page so would that work?

Cory Day (cors36) | 1205 comments Since it seems from the completed tasks thread that the books' main page genres can change, can I get The Dark Horse approved? I'm on a bit of a Josh Lanyon kick :)

Krista (kacey14) | 1037 comments Can I get by where all the light tends to go by David Joy for this task?

It's showing Mystery>Crime on the book's main page today, but I'm concerned that it might lose that classification by the time I read it.

Note to Goodreads Librarians: The only book title that can be linked using the "add book/author" feature does not show the Mystery/Crime classification that I'm referring to.

ISBN # 0399172777 Is the book that has the ratings. The link shown above looks like it's for an early version of the book. (?) Can the ISBN edition I've provided be included so that it's available when searching by the book title?

Thanks!
-Krista

Elizabeth (Alaska) Where All Light Tends to Go

I combined the editions, it may take 10 minutes or so for the main edition to show up in search.
